Cruise Vacation - Day 2 (MON)

We got up around 9:30am and made some coffee in our room and just hung out there. Here is the view of Miami from our hotel room: It was an overcast day, even had a few sprinkles on us: Here is the only luggage I brought to go on a week long cruise. I was very proud of the fact that I managed to fit it all in my carry-on's! We thought we would wait to eat until we got on the boat where it was free. =) We didn't have to check out and meet the NAPA staff until noon, so we had a nice relaxing morning. We went down about 11:45am, and there was a bus waiting to take us over to our cruise ship, the Celebrity Century. The ship holds 1800 guests and Napa 5 Star took up 1079 of them. Once we got to the place where we would board the ship, we never stopped walking. They had us practically running thru the lines, it was so nice! Then we stepped onto the boat and there was a line of waiters in Tuxes offering you an assortment of drinks. Our room wasn't ready until 1pm (it was about 12:30pm when we got onto the boat), so they told us where to get some food and we headed over there. We ate at the Poolside Grill. We had a burger and fries. At that time, we both realized that if we wore our Napa 5 Star name tags, we could get ALL drinks for free! We wore that most of the time. Plus, it was fun to look around and see where other people were from and how many times they had earned 5 Star trips. This was our second trip. Our first was when I was pregnant with Emma in 2006, we went to the Bahamas.
After we were done with lunch, we went up to our room. There were some fresh flowers on the little table in front of the couch, and Napa had left us some gifts: a nice back pack, some water bottles and sun screen stuff. Our room was incredible! There were a few full length mirrors, which made it feel a little bigger. A nice flat screen TV, which we didn't watch a whole lot. There was a ton of closet space, so we took everything out of our bags and moved in! =) Here we are checking out the balcony off our room: After we unpacked, we walked around and got familiar with the boat. We checked out the gym: At 4pm, we had to participate in a Life Boat Muster Drill where they told us what to do in case of an emergency. When we were done, we decided to stand out there and take in the view and we looked up and this is what we saw:
It says "Bon Voyage 5 Star Champions" ! =) Also, while we were standing out there, another cruise ship was taking off, so that was fun to see: We had some time to kill, so we decided to go down by the Poolside Grill and get a plate of fries to share and a drink. Then we went to check out the back of the boat: We decided to go to the gym and work out before we set sail, so that's what we did. Then we went back to the room to get ready for the evening. We went to the Welcome Reception where people from the Western region of Napa gathered together. Tim and I sat in a corner booth and enjoyed eachother's company and watched the water out the window by our table. =) Here is where we met a server who was from Romania. His name was Florin. He was a very nice young man who loved hearing about how we had a sister-in-law from Romania who is now married to Tim's brother who is now a Doctor in the USA. =) After the welcome reception, we headed over to the Theater for the opening show. Here are a couple of video's of the show that night. They had a few of their entertainers perform to show what they were like.

After the show, we walked around and checked out the different clubs. We got a drink at a club called the Rendezvous Lounge.

Then we ended up taking our drinks over to the Crystal Night Club and found a nice little corner booth where we were entertained by some singing and dancing. It was a wonderful first day of our cruise!
